[Wallpaper] Hunted Marleybone Queen

by on June 05, 2018
Final Version

This is how I started:

I used a Glossy shader for the Floor and Wall with the following node setup:

After the rough scene layout I added some lamps, plants and changed the glass fractures a little bit:

The sky has the same texture as the Polaris Arena I was working on:

After 7 more hours I had the final Version I wanted:

For the little light effects on the lamps I used a Glare node in the compositing node setup with the following settings:

After 30 minutes rendertime I started the post editing with gimp (for the vignette effect, the wizard101 logo and my twitter header font)

For the last little detail I used Topaz Labs to add a "crisp style" with these settings:

And that's it for this Wallpaper :D

Btw:
I used this tutorial for the broken window:

[Scene] A new Wallpaper: Darkmoor-Hallway

by on May 03, 2018
The final Image

I started with the Hallway model and added a Camera to see where I have to place the different things in the Scene:

After that I created the cracked floor, wall and roof in the background, this is how it looks from a different persective:

For the Player-model I took the one I used for my Face expression tweet (this one), but in the fire version:

I added Malistaire and 2 spiders to create a shadow-school feeling in the hallway:

One of the biggest things in a wallpaper is the lightning:

I added:
  •  a purple (Hex: #7E569E, strength: 100,000) light behind Malistaire
  •  a green light behind the player (Hex: #CEFFB6, Strength: 1,000
  • and an Emission object at Malistaires staff (Hex: #E757D0, strength 50)
The Bats are created with a particle system (20 frames, particle number: 3000). The Particle object was this image:

After that I added cracks to the floor and an Area-light under it:

This is how the Image looked like after 20 minutes rendering:

I used Gimp 1.10 to added some effects and the wizard101 logo from the ingame Loadingscreens.

And that's pretty much it :D
(I worked like 7 hours on the Wallpaper)

Time for a new Arena #5

by on April 04, 2018
This post is about the Skybox :D

This is how I created the Skybox-model for the Arena:
-> Next step was the Texture:

1: I took a screenshot of the sky in Polaris. I decided to take the Harbor Skybox for my Arena:

2: I made it seamless on the x-axis to use it as a Skybox Texture:

3: It was a bit empty, so I added some effects:

________

And that's the result:
